Avenida Q is now open
Thank you for showing up and turning opening night into a real celebration

Today we officially opened Avenida Q, with a premiere and a first performance that honestly went better than any of us dared to hope, and we’re still a little giddy about it. The room was full of the kind of laughter you can’t fake. If you were there with us, thank you for showing up and turning opening night into a real celebration. If you weren’t, good news, we’ve got more performances coming up and we would love to see you in those seats.

A message from the director,
I want to start with something that sounds obvious but that people forget all the time: nothing you see on that stage happens because of one person, or even because of the cast alone. There is a whole army working behind the scenes, and tonight I want them to get the spotlight for a minute.
Let me start with Majo Bustamante, who had, without a doubt, the smallest job of the entire season. And I mean small literally, because she had to dress puppets. Puppets that change costumes, that change personalities from one scene to the next, and where every single outfit had to fit perfectly into the world of this show.
Then there’s Ale Pira, who designed these puppets and led an incredible team that brought them to life from nothing. I don’t think people realize these were sewn by hand, stitch by stitch, with care put into every detail, every strand of hair, all so they could shine under those lights.
To the whole team at Sinérgica, led by Ale Martín, who had our backs with lights, sound, every microphone and set construction.
And to Jorge Gómez, our musical director. Together we broke our own record for how fast we’ve ever put a musical together, which sounds great on paper but really means a ridiculous amount of time invested in adapting and rehearsing a show that can't wait for you to discover it.
See you at the theatre,
Migue
